It's hard to say why anyone would sign up for the job, which can be exhausting and thankless.

Maybe, just maybe, once in a while, you're going to get a little reflection of love back, and see some of the reasons that keep moms going. You'll see a kid smile, learn to swim, read a book to themselves, block a goal attempt, overpower batters, be a kind mentor, go on a first date, go to college, zipline, bring friends home to meet you, really sit down and talk... OK, maybe it isn't always thankless.

Moms, we appreciate you, more than just one day. Let's hope you feel that on your special day Sunday.

In real estate news, this week it sure seems like a little surge of inventory. This is probably our most extensive New Listings post of 2022.

Floorplan is very familiar, with wide open spaces downstairs and a 5th bedroom flex room with double doors that could serve as a den or office.

2913 N Poinsettia Avenue Manhattan Beach CA2913 N Poinsettia Avenue (5br/4ba, 3170 sqft.) could become the third house to sell on this storybook block this year (there's an off-market home on the street, can we talk about that one?).

The last one to come out was 2905 Poinsettia, which shot up unbelievably from $3.799M to a sale at $4.461M. That home did have much more yard space and the timing was pre-interest-rate-spikes, so we'll see where this pretty one winds up.

1601 Pine Avenue Manhattan Beach CA1601 Pine Avenue (5br/5ba, 2962 sqft.) was once one of the "Speedy Speckies," part of a series of 5-6 homes built quickly, almost in assembly-line fashion, early in this cycle (yikes, it was 11 years ago!) before anyone else was building. The builder was not one of the best (he's since skipped town) and many of the homes were not even his best work.

When first offered, this one was bizarrely labeled as "Colonial" in style while laden with cheap Mediterranean details.
