If you were new to MB, you might be surprised by the fireworks tonight at the pier.

If you're a longtimer, you may still be surprised by the start time: 7:00pm, an hour later than the show has often begun.

Meantime, snow starts at 4:00, and this year may call for an early arrival – with temperatures near 80 degrees today (don't tell your friends and family in the Midwest), who knows how long that snow lasts today?

With just one debut in the Trees this weekend, we're focusing on 3 listings in the Trees all near one another.

Tree Section

2913 Pacific (3br/2ba, 1900 sq. ft.) is a one-story 60s home on a busy street that is the subject of a current MBC pricing poll.

Our first post on the home mentioned its "profound blandness."

Since then, we hear it's been staged to spruce it up for its public debut.

Janie Sue Nagy wonders aloud in her post about the "chain lock on the outside of the pocket door to the master suite," admitting she's "puzzled" by that, and, noting that the property looks and feels like a rental, says, "you could move right in and live like a tenant, but you would probably want to fix this one up."

2913 Pacific began at $1.1m, and is open Sun. 2-4pm.

Just across the street, the double-lot home mentioned here last week is open again.

2912 Pacific (4br/2ba, 1875 sq. ft.) features a stylish, contemporary overhaul of a a late-40s original cottage.

The layout, while fun, is different, and you won't find all 4 bedrooms referenced in the listing – just 2. A wall between 2 kids' rooms was taken out to make a great L-shaped room, while another would-be bedroom now serves as a kitchen annex with storage and desk.

Bonus: The garage has been made out as a rumpus room, though it would take very little to convert it back to formal garage use if you need it.

2912 Pacific is at $1.599m, and is open Sun. 12-3pm.

Nearby, 2920 Laurel (3br/2ba, 1875 sq. ft.) offers a smartly remodeled cottage in a nice Tree Section location at a decent price, $1.249m to start.

After a debut in early November, this one had a very quick deal, but it came back to market shortly thereafter. 

The remodel provides a spacious, modern kitchen opening to a great room/living room, 3 tautly redone bedrooms all together on one floor, plus a cozy family room (with wet bar) downstairs and nice patio and yard. The major compromise is that all bedrooms and the main living space share the one upstairs bath.

The slightly larger, much weirder and less-updated home at 2908 Laurel (3br/3ba, 1985 sq. ft.) closed for $1.180m in mid-October.

2920 Laurel is at $1.249m and is open Sun. 1-4pm.
