Sunday Opens (6/29/14)

By Dave Fratello | June 28th, 2014

We hope you're enjoying a nice Summer. We're trying to, with a couple of days off.

So we'll bring you an abbreviated list of some highlights among new listings for the week.

To plan your open-house tours for this week, use MB Confidential's online list of Manhattan Beach open houses (it's mobile-friendly!).

Don't forget, when previewing homes here on MB Confidential, you can click "Open All Images" right above the main listing photo to get immediate display of all the listing photos at once.

Sand Section

So maybe 500 3rd (4br/4ba, 3000 sq. ft.) could use a little exterior shave, but let's not let that fact detract from its location (ahhhhh, the South End, walkstreet-adjacent) or somewhat stylish, open interior.

The remodel is fairly fresh. Worth a look.

How else are you going to get into Robinson before classes start?

500 3rd begins at $2.699M and is open Sun. 2-4pm.

Tree Section

742 33rd (5br/6ba, 3975 sq. ft.) is a spacious Cape Cod with a basement. Wide-open, bright family spaces spread across the first floor.

The yard is basically in front, though there is a back patio area.

742 33rd starts at $2.998M and is open Sun. 1-4pm.

1144 Highview (3br/4ba, 2795 sq. ft.) is near the peak of the South Martyrs Hill area near downtown, a bold modern.

1144 Highview starts at $2.849M and is open Sun. 1-4pm.

599 35th (3br/3ba, 2400 sq. ft.) is at the corner of Blanche and 35th, near Rosecrans, not quite a must-have location.

Listed at $1.699M in early June, this one made a quick deal, and stirred speculation that builders might be getting less choosy in grabbing lots wherever they might.

Alas, the home is back on market this week – albeit at a higher price, $1.750M. You'll have to see it in person to get a picture, because right now there's just one (poor) agent cell-phone photo propping up the listing.

599 35th re-starts at $1.750M and is open Sun. 1-4pm.

East MB

1400 Chestnut (3br/2ba, 1550 sq. ft.) is yet another way to remodel one of the prefab late-1940s cottages east of the highway.

They've opened it up and highly customized the house inside and out.

The original builders would, if they could, stand and applaud.

1400 Chestnut starts at $1.499M and is open Sun. 2-4pm.
