Pickleball Courts

Pickleball is a relatively new racquet sport that is rapidly gaining popularity in Manhattan Beach. It combines the best of tennis and ping-pong in a fast-paced but lower-impact court and racquet game. A pickleball court is the same size as a doubles badminton court and is used for both singles and doubles play. The court is striped similar to a tennis court and has a 7-foot non-volley zone in front of the net (referred to as the “kitchen”).

Manhattan Beach’s pickleball courts are located at Manhattan Heights Park. Pickleball court reservations must be made online. Reservations can be made up to 4 days in advance for Manhattan Beach residents and 3 days in advance for non-Manhattan Beach residents.

For those who enjoy tournament play, Manhattan Beach recently started a new tradition of a “Pickleball Turkey Tournament,” which is held on the weekend immediately following Thanksgiving.
