We're getting to that time of year when the car companies start hinting that you should buy your lifetime sweetie a new ride for Christmas. A Lexus with a gigantic bow around it in the driveway. The keys to a new Mercedes in the stocking.
There are some holiday gifts that need no fantasy sales pitch or extra adornments, though.

The home, once dubbed "Monticello" in a misdirected – though successful – sales pitch, has now found buyers within a week.
If they close relatively quickly, the house keys can go in the stocking this year.
It's a high-caliber house, clearly one of the top 3 or so to be offered on the public market in the Tree Section this year. It's no surprise to see people move fast.
And now that the home-buying's done, it's time to focus on the things for which it's really important to give thanks.
